A bill to amend 1972 PA 230, entitled

"Stille-DeRossett-Hale single state construction code act,"

(MCL 125.1501 to 125.1531) by adding section 13h.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 13h. (1) A new single-family dwelling built on or after January 1, 2025 that has a dedicated parking space must have a minimum of 6 kilowatts of power capacity available to that space for electric vehicle charging.

(2) A new multifamily dwelling built on or after January 1, 2025 must have a minimum of 19 kilowatts of power capacity available for each 5 parking spaces for electric vehicle charging.

(3) The bureau of construction codes may increase or add requirements beyond these minimum standards.
