Rep. Alex Garza, from the 12th District, offered the following invocation:
“Dear Lord, God of peace, we invite You into the halls of this beautiful and historic Michigan State Capitol as we do the people’s work. Even when we have different opinions amongst us, give us unity of spirit. Help each of us open our ears and our hearts to actively listen to our colleagues, even when we do not necessarily agree with one another. Help us to work as a unified team for a favorable outcome for the nearly 10 million people that we all represent across this great state. Help us to work as a whole, rather than as individuals. May we have a spirit of camaraderie in this room and work together on our shared mission of making this state better than how we found it. We place our hearts and our minds in Your hands so that You may direct us. This we pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
______
Rep. Rabhi moved that Rep. Brabec be excused from today’s session.
