A bill to amend 1966 PA 346, entitled

"State housing development authority act of 1966,"

(MCL 125.1401 to 125.1499c) by adding section 44h.

the people of the state of michigan enact:

Sec. 44h. (1) An individual is not eligible for a loan made under the authority of this act unless he or she is a United States citizen or an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence into the United States.

(2) The authority shall institute procedures to ensure that the requirements of this section are implemented. The authority shall not require any person or entity other than the authority to ensure that the requirements of this section are implemented.

Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days after the date it is enacted into law.
