CONTENT

The bill would amend the Limousine, Taxicab, and Transportation Network Company Act to extend the sunset on the application and per-vehicle fees paid by a limousine carrier, taxicab carrier, or transportation network company. These fees are due to sunset on March 21, 2020; after that date, the fees would be eliminated. The bill would delay this sunset and maintain the current fee structure until March 21, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT

The bill would have a positive fiscal impact on the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and no fiscal impact on local units of government. The extension of the current fees would preserve about $300,000 in annual fee revenue. Fee revenue is deposited into the Licensing and Regulation Fund and is used by the Department to enforce and administer the Act.
