A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5002 AS INTRODUCED 9-24-13

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate a portion of highway I-96 from the intersection with Fruit Ridge Avenue in the City of Walker and extending west to the intersection with 16th Avenue in Ottawa County as the "Officer Trevor Slot Memorial Highway."

Proposed MCL 250.1061

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the State Transportation Department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining those markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
