A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4240 AS INTRODUCED 2-12-13
Under the bill, an individual who fails or refuses to take a drug test required as part of an employment application would not be eligible for unemployment benefits, unless the individual showed good cause.
The bill is an amendment to the Michigan Employment Security Act (MCL 421.28)
FISCAL IMPACT:
House Bill 4240 could have a minor negative fiscal impact on the Department of Likening and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) to the extent that claimants determined ineligible for unemployment benefit due to failing or refusing to take a drug test appeal the determination.
