SENATE SUBSTITUTE FOR

 

HOUSE BILL NO. 6063

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

     A bill to amend 1954 PA 116, entitled

 

"Michigan election law,"

 

(MCL 168.1 to 168.992) by adding section 952b.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 952b. A petition for the recall of an officer shall not

 

be submitted to the board of state canvassers under section 951a or

 

the board of county election commissioners under section 952 to

 

determine if the petition is factual and of sufficient clarity

 

until the officer has actually performed the duties of the office

 

to which elected for a period of 6 months during the current term

 

of that office. In addition, a petition for the recall of an

 

officer shall not be submitted to the board of state canvassers

 

under section 951a or the board of county election commissioners

 

under section 952 to determine if the petition is factual and of

 


sufficient clarity during the last 6 months of the officer's term

 

of office.
