A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5496 AS INTRODUCED 3-20-12

The bill would amend the Michigan Memorial Highway Act by adding Section 1076 to designate the bridge on highway US-24 in Monroe County between North Custer Road and South Custer Road as the "Matt Urban Memorial Bridge."

FISCAL IMPACT:

Section 2 of the Michigan Memorial Highway Act indicates that the state transportation department shall only provide for the erection of suitable markers indicating the name of the highway "when sufficient private contributions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and maintaining the markers."  As a result, the bill has no state or local fiscal impact.
