A bill to amend 2006 PA 110, entitled
"Michigan zoning enabling act,"
by amending section 204 (MCL 125.3204).
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec.
204. (1) A zoning ordinance adopted under this act shall
provide for the use of a single-family residence by an occupant of
that residence for a home occupation to give instruction in a craft
or fine art within the residence.
(2) A zoning ordinance shall not prohibit in any zoning
district the hobby of collecting and restoring motor vehicles,
which may include any of the following:
(a) Repairing or modifying motor vehicles that are undergoing
restoration.
(b) Maintaining motor vehicles as a source of parts for motor
vehicles undergoing restoration.
(3) This section does not prohibit the regulation of
a zoning
ordinance from doing any of the following:
(a) Regulating noise, advertising, traffic, hours of
operation,
or other conditions that may accompany the use of a
residence
property under this section.
(b) Requiring that parts, motor vehicles, or activities under
subsection (2) be screened from view by fencing, vegetation, or
other means.
