     A bill to amend 1931 PA 328, entitled

 

"The Michigan penal code,"

 

(MCL 750.1 to 750.568) by adding section 411u.

 

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 

     Sec. 411u. (1) A person sentenced by the court to perform

 

community service who knowingly provides false information to the

 

court regarding his or her performance of that community service is

 

guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more

 

than 30 days or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.

 

     (2) A person who knowingly provides false information to the

 

court that a person sentenced to perform community service has

 

complied with the requirements of that community service is guilty

 

of a misdemeanor punishable by imprisonment for not more than 30

 

days or a fine of not more than $500.00, or both.


 

     (3) This section does not prohibit the person from being

 

charged with, convicted of, or sentenced for any other violation of

 

law arising out of actions that constitute a violation of this

 

section.

 

     Enacting section 1. This amendatory act takes effect 90 days

 

after the date it is enacted into law.
