The Speaker, on behalf of the entire membership of the House of Representatives, offered the following resolution:
House Resolution No. 324.
A resolution of tribute for the Honorable Robert Gosselin.
Whereas, It is with deep thanks for his service to this legislative body that we join together to thank the Honorable Robert Gosselin as he concludes his tenure of office with the House of Representatives. His service here has been a culmination of a rich business and public service background; and
Whereas, Robert Gosselin worked for 20 years as a senior designer at General Motors. His experience also included building homes for 24 years and work as a real estate agent. His interest in public service and politics led him to serve on the Troy City Council, where he was mayor pro-tem. He also served as a national delegate in 1992 and 1996 at the Republican National Conventions; and
Whereas, Elected to the House of Representatives in 1998, 2000, and 2004, Representative Gosselin found his rich experience useful in his role as the chair of the Employment Relations, Training, and Safety Committee. He also contributed to the work of this legislative body on the committees for Education, Government Operations, Tax Policy, and Transportation. Truly, his record of public service is one to be emulated; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, That we honor Representative Gosselin as he concludes his service with the Michigan House of Representatives; and be it further
Resolved, That a copy of this resolution be transmitted to Representative Gosselin as evidence of our esteem.
