A bill to amend 1956 PA 218, entitled
"The insurance code of 1956,"
(MCL 500.100 to 500.8302) by adding section 2117a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 2117a. A home insurance policy shall not exclude from
coverage any claim resulting from an act committed by an insured in
self-defense. Self-defense shall be an exception to any intentional
acts exclusion in a home insurance policy and an injury resulting
from an act committed by an insured in self-defense shall not be
considered an expected or intended act.
