A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 12703a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
Sec. 12703a. (1) If a residence has an inadequate supply of
water and a community supply is not available, a person may use an
in-ground hauled water system to supply water to that residence for
drinking or household purposes.
(2) As used in this section:
(a) "Community supply" means that term as defined in section 2
of the safe drinking water act, 1976 PA 399, MCL 325.1002.
(b) "Inadequate supply of water" means a water supply that the
local health department determines has an inadequate quantity of
water available or meets or exceeds any of the following
contaminant levels:
(i) Chloride 250 mg/L.
(ii) Hardness 250 mg/L.
(iii) Iron 0.5 mg/L.
(iv) Sodium 160 mg/L.
(v) Sulfate 250 mg/L.
