A bill to amend 1978 PA 368, entitled
"Public health code,"
(MCL 333.1101 to 333.25211) by adding section 20917a.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:
1 Sec. 20917a. Not later than 1 year after the effective date
2 of the amendatory act that added this section, the department
3 shall develop and incorporate the following components into the
4 statewide trauma care system implemented under section 20910:
5 (a) Minimum services in rendering patient care, including
6 triage and destination protocols.
7 (b) Classification and designation of hospitals in accordance
8 with their respective trauma care capabilities.
9 (c) Communication systems between hospitals and prehospital
10 elements of the statewide trauma care system.
11 (d) A statewide trauma data system to measure the
1 effectiveness of trauma care and to promote ongoing quality
2 improvement.
3 (e) Interfacility transfers.
4 (f) Training and education of health care personnel and
5 emergency medical services personnel involved in the provision of
6 trauma care services.
7 (g) A statewide trauma care advisory subcommittee.
8 (h) A regional trauma network that is consistent with this
9 state's emergency preparedness plan.
10 (i) Trauma injury prevention planning.
11 Enacting section 1. This amendatory act does not take
12 effect unless all of the following bills of the 92nd Legislature
13 are enacted into law:
14 (a) Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. 6103 (request

16 (b) Senate Bill No. _____ or House Bill No. 6102 (request
17 no. 06984'04).
