HEALTH FACILITY LICENSE FEES - S.B. 576 (S-1): FLOOR ANALYSIS

CONTENT
This bill would amend the Public Health Code to increase various fees charged of health facilities for licensure, applications, and construction permits. The bill also would permit the Department of Consumer and Industry Services to charge a new fee for the licensure of substance abuse programs. Table 1 provides details on affected facilities.
The bill would sunset the fee increases on September 30, 2007. All fees would revert to current levels on that date.

FISCAL IMPACT
This bill would generate approximately $1.2 million in additional revenue which would be used to replace General Fund/General Purpose funding for the support of the Bureau of Health Systems.
