A bill to amend 2001 PA 266, entitled "Grade A milk law of 2001," by amending section 68 (MCL 288.538). THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 68. (1) Only EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PROVIDED FOR IN 2 THIS SUBSECTION, ONLY pasteurized milk and milk products shall be 3 offered for sale or sold, directly or indirectly, to the final 4 consumer or to restaurants, grocery stores, or similar 5 establishments. A PRODUCER OWNING AN ANIMAL USED TO PRODUCE MILK 6 OR MILK PRODUCTS MAY SELL OR OFFER FOR SALE A MINIMUM OF A 7 10% INTEREST PER FAMILY IN THE MILK-PRODUCING ANIMAL TO AN INDI- 8 VIDUAL OTHER THAN AN ON-FARM FAMILY MEMBER OF THE PRODUCER FOR 9 ONLY THE PERSONAL USE OF THE MILK OR MILK PRODUCTS. 10 (2) All milk and milk products SOLD OR OFFERED FOR SALE 11 shall be pasteurized according to the requirements of the 06585'02 LBO 2 1 pasteurized milk ordinance and the time-temperature relationships 2 described in the pasteurized milk ordinance. 3 (3) All EXCEPT IN THE CASE OF A PRODUCER FEEDING HIS OR HER 4 OWN FARM ANIMAL, ALL dairy plant by-products used for feeding 5 purposes for farm animals shall be pasteurized or be derived from 6 pasteurized products. 7 Enacting section 1.
