        A bill to amend 1984 PA 431, entitled

   "The management and budget act,"

   (MCL 18.1101 to 18.1594) by adding section 495.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

             SEC. 495.  (1) THE DEPARTMENT SHALL CREATE A GRANT PROGRAM

        TO PROVIDE FUNDS TO COUNTIES FOR THE REMOVAL OF DEAD ANIMALS FROM

 3
        THE ROADS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THAT COUNTY.

             (2) A COUNTY MAY USE THE GRANT PROCEEDS TO REMOVE THE DEAD

 5
        ANIMALS OR TO CONTRACT WITH ANOTHER ENTITY FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE

        DEAD ANIMALS.
