     October 29, 2001, Introduced by Rep. Rich Brown and referred to the Committee on Transportation.


        A bill to name a certain portion of highway M-203 the

   "Veteran's Memorial Highway"; and to prescribe certain duties of

   the state transportation department.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 1.  That portion of highway M-203 beginning at the

 2
      western border of the intersection of Lakeview cemetery and M-203

 3
      and extending east 1.6 miles shall be named the "Veteran's

 4
      Memorial Highway".

           Sec. 2.  The state transportation department shall only pro-

 6
      vide for the erection and maintenance of suitable markers indi-

 7
      cating the name of the highway when sufficient private contribu-

 8
      tions are received to completely cover the cost of erecting and

 9
      maintaining those markers.
