Anderson, Daniels, Hale, Mans, Bogardus and LaSata and referred to the Committee on Land Use and Environment.


        A bill to amend 1987 PA 96, entitled

   "The mobile home commission act,"

   by amending section 17 (MCL 125.2317).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 17.  (1) The department of  public health 

 2
      ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY or its authorized representative shall con-

 3
      duct an annual physical inspection of mobile home parks and sea-

 4
      sonal mobile home parks in accordance with standards established

 5
      by the department of  public health  ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY.  If

 6
      the mobile home park or seasonal mobile home park is approved,

 7
      the department of  public health  ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY shall

 8
      issue a certification of compliance to the department  of

 9
      commerce  that the park is licensable.

           (2)  Except for purposes of issuing a license or renewing a

11
      license pursuant to this act, a  A local government may  not

      make an inspection  unless  OF A MOBILE HOME PARK OR A SEASONAL

 2
      MOBILE HOME PARK IF it has reason to believe that A LOCAL

 3
      ORDINANCE, this act, the code, or rules promulgated pursuant to

      this act  were  HAVE BEEN violated.
