        A bill to amend 1981 PA 82, entitled

   "An act to prohibit the use of certain collars or harnesses and
   leashes on dogs in public places, except by deaf, audibly
   impaired, or otherwise physically limited persons; and to pre-
   scribe penalties,"

   by amending sections 2 and 3 (MCL 752.62 and 752.63), section 2

   as amended by 1984 PA 111.

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

           Sec. 2.  (1)  A person, except a person  AN INDIVIDUAL,

 2
      EXCEPT AN INDIVIDUAL who is deaf, audibly impaired, or otherwise

 3
      physically limited shall not use or be in possession of a dog

 4
      that is wearing a HARNESS OR A blaze orange leash and collar  or

 5
      harness  in  any  A public place WHERE DOGS ARE OTHERWISE

 6
      RESTRICTED FROM ENTERING.

           (2) AN INDIVIDUAL SHALL NOT IMPERSONATE AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS

 8
      DEAF, AUDIBLY IMPAIRED, OR OTHERWISE PHYSICALLY LIMITED FOR THE

      PURPOSE OF ENTERING A PUBLIC PLACE WITH A DOG WHERE DOGS ARE

 2
      OTHERWISE RESTRICTED FROM ENTERING BY USING A DOG THAT IS WEARING

 3
      A HARNESS OR A BLAZE ORANGE LEASH AND COLLAR.

           Sec. 3.  A person who knowingly violates this act is guilty

 5
      of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of not more than  $10.00

 6
      $500.00.
