A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5388 AS INTRODUCED 11-1-01
Public Act 188 of 1954 allows townships to make various public improvements specified in the act. A township board may pay for such an improvement by issuing bonds or may defray the cost of an improvement by special assessment against any property that is especially benefited by a given improvement. House Bill 5388 would amend the act (MCL 41.722) to allow a township to construct, improve, maintain, and operate a public marina, including public docks, in addition to other public improvements currently specified in the act.
