A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 5188 AS INTRODUCED 10-11-01
The Revised School Code requires that the board of a school district or the board of directors of a public school academy obtain competitive bids on all material and labor for new school buildings and additions to, repairs of, and renovations of existing school buildings. House Bill 5188 would amend the code to specify that a board or board of directors could not "discriminate against a bidder because of religion, race, color, national origin, or sex, or because of the status of its employees with respect to collective bargaining representation."
