A SUMMARY OF HOUSE BILL 4687 AS INTRODUCED 5-1-01
The bill would amend the Revised School Code to prohibit a school district or public school academy from building a new school or acquiring a site for a new school unless the school first agreed upon an infrastructure plan with the affected municipality. Such a plan would have to specify the infrastructure improvements, including roads, water, and sewer, needed to ensure adequate access and services for the school and the surrounding area, and would also have to include a plan for financing those improvements.
