ADDENDUM TO SENATE FISCAL AGENCY ANALYSIS OF SB 1448 AND 1452 DATED 11-22-02:
HOUSE COMMITTEE ACTION:
The committee adopted identical amendments to the bills which would change the tie-bar sections. As amended, Senate Bill 1448 would be tie-barred to Senate Bill 1452, House Bill 4090, and House Bills 4551-4553. As amended, Senate Bill 1452 would be tie-barred to Senate Bill 1448, House Bill 4090, and House Bills 4551-4553.
POSITIONS:
A representative of the Genesee County Jury Board testified in support of the increased pay for jurors, but expressed a concern regarding the exclusion of persons with past felony convictions. (12-5-02)
A representative of the Kent County Jury Commission testified in support of the increased pay for jurors, but was opposed to the exclusion of persons with past felony convictions. (12-5-02)
