CONTENT
The bill would amend the Michigan Vehicle Code to require that the maximum speed limit be 45 miles per hour on all nonpaved roads or parts of nonpaved roads consisting of crushed stone, shale, slag, sand, gravel, or other aggregate, upon which a maximum speed limit had not been fixed under the Vehicle Code.

FISCAL IMPACT
The fiscal impact of this bill is indeterminate.
Both the State and local units of government would have to modify or erect suitable markers notifying drivers of the new speed limits proposed under this legislation. However, the cost to do so would depend on the number of roads affected by this bill, the number of signs, their size, and placement.
