SENATE BILL NO. 1035

            ROGERS, EMMONS, STILLE, MC MANUS, NORTH, GOUGEON, BULLARD,
            DUNASKISS, SCHWARZ, GAST, DINGELL, STEIL, SHUGARS and CONROY
            and referred to the Committee on Families, Mental Health and
            Human Services.
     


        A bill to amend 1956 PA 205, entitled

   "The paternity act,"

   by amending section 8 (MCL 722.718).

               THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT:

 1         Sec.  8.  The court shall require  the  THAT A
             SUPPORT pay-

 2    ment  of any sums to  be made to the friend of the
             court or to

 3    the clerk of the court.  , which sums  ANY SUPPORT
             PAYMENT

 4    RECEIVED shall be disbursed in accordance with the order of the

 5    court.  , except that upon certification by a county
             department

 6     of social services that a complainant is receiving public
                       assist-

 7     ance, payments received by the friend of the court for
                       support

 8     and education of a child born out of wedlock shall be
                       transmitted

 9     to the state department of social services.
