A bill to amend 1965 PA 203, entitled "Michigan law enforcement officers training council act of 1965," (MCL 28.601 to 28.616) by adding section 9a. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 SEC. 9A. (1) IN ADDITION TO THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 2 9(1), THE COUNCIL SHALL PREPARE AND PUBLISH A MINIMUM COURSE OF 3 STUDY FOR THE TRAINING CURRICULUM FOR ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICERS. 4 (2) THE COURSE OF STUDY PREPARED PURSUANT TO SUBSECTION (1) 5 SHALL INCLUDE ALL OF THE SUBJECTS REQUIRED FOR A LAW ENFORCEMENT 6 OFFICER BUT THE SCOPE OF THE SUBJECTS SHALL BE LIMITED TO INCLUDE 7 ONLY THE INFORMATION THAT IS APPLICABLE TO THE DUTIES PERFORMED 8 BY AN ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. 9 (3) AN OFFICER WHO HAS COMPLETED THE LIMITED COURSE OF STUDY 10 PREPARED PURSUANT TO THIS SECTION SHALL ONLY PERFORM THE DUTIES 11 OF AN ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER. 00007'97 JJG
