A bill to amend 1978 PA 90, entitled "Youth employment standards act," by amending section 3 (MCL 409.103), as amended by 1987 PA 71. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN ENACT: 1 Sec. 3. (1) A minor shall not be employed in, about, or in 2 connection with an occupationwhichTHAT is hazardous or inju- 3 rious to the minor's health or personal well-being orwhich4 THAT is contrary to standards establishedpursuant toUNDER 5 this act, unless a deviation is granted under section 20. 6 (2) The minimum age for employment of minors is 14 years, 7except that aSUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING EXCEPTIONS: 8 (A) A MINOR 10 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER MAY BE EMPLOYED AS A 9 HOCKEY REFEREE. 10 (B) A minor 11 years of age or older may be employed as a 11 golf caddy.and a03531'97 DMS 2 1 (C) A minor 13 years of age or older may be employed in 2 farming operations as described in section 4(3). 03531'97 Final page.
